Wet Weather Procedures
Due to possible wet weather impacts, teams are advised that the tournament may operate under a modified wet weather format if required.
Where pool matches cannot be played, games may be recorded as a draw with 1 point awarded to each team.
Partially completed matches may stand if at least 50% of the match has been played. Result is determined by result at the time of cancellation
If match abandoned AFTER 50% completed:
Leading by 1 goal → recorded as a draw
Leading by 2+ goals → result stands and winning team awarded 3 points
Finals formats and match durations may also be modified if necessary to ensure player safety and tournament completion.
The Tournament Director, Venue Management and Referee Coordinator will make all final decisions regarding delays, suspensions or cancellations.
Q and A on Wet Weather
-
In the event a match is abandoned after 50% of regulation time has elapsed:
If the margin is 2 goals or greater, the result will stand.
If the margin is 1 goal, the match will be recorded as a draw.
For abandoned matches before 50% completion, a draw and 1 point each will apply unless otherwise determined by Tournament Management.
-
Protects teams from “bad luck timing”
If a team is only 1 goal down with several minutes left, they still realistically had a chance.
Rewards dominant performances
A 2 - or 3-goal lead in walking football is often significant, especially in shorter games.
Reduces arguments!!!

The Tournament Director, Alan Templeton, and IWFF President, Alan Rose will make all final decisions regarding delays, suspensions or cancellations. Their decisions are final. Please note: these procedures are subject to change.
-
A very common approach is:
Cancelled pool game = 1 point each (recorded as 1–1 draw or 0–0 draw)
That works well because:
neither team gains a big advantage
simple for ladders
easy to explain
avoids disputes
